III ADHUC Prize in sexuality and gender studies
The Research Center ADHUC-Teoria, Gènere, Sexualitat (Universitat de Barcelona) is announcing the third edition of the ADHUC Prize in sexuality and gender studies to reward an essay in this interdisciplinary field of research. The Prize will consist of the publication of the awarded essay within the Icaria’s collection "Mujeres y culturas". The members of the jury are: Fina Birulés (Universitat de Barcelona), Rafael M. Mérida Jiménez (Universitat de Lleida), Alberto Mira (Oxford Brookes University), Marta Segarra (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique and director of the collection), Lluís Maria Todó (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and Meri Torras (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona).
The essays, which have to be unpublished (that is, they cannot be accessed via any means) and written in Spanish, will have a total length of between 150 and 220 pages of 2.100 characters each (including blank spaces). Collective volumes, collections of articles or other academic works that have not been turned into essays will not be accepted. The texts have to be e-mailed and posted to adhuc@ub.edu and Centre de recerca ADHUC (Facultat de Filologia, Universitat de Barcelona, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes 585, 08007 Barcelona) before January 15, 2018 (it is recommended to read the rules of the III ADHUC Prize). Originals have to follow the style set by “Mujeres y culturas”: http://www.ub.edu/cdona/es/mujeresyculturas. The prize will be awarded in March, 2018. The resolution will be privately communicated to the winner and it will be publically announced in the website: http://www.ub.edu/cdona. The winner agrees to accept the terms of the contract proposed by Icaria Editorial.
