El plaer de la lectura. Emocions i ficcions

Coordinated by Marta Font and Katarzyna Paszkiewicz (Centre Dona i Literatura), the course El plaer de la lectura. Emocions i ficcions responds to the need to identify and to reflect about the emotions involved in creative processes and their ability to affect. Given the novelty of this theoretical perspective, the first sessions will explore why emotions, affect, and sensations have become the leading edge in recent critical theory. Based on this premise, the course seeks to offer a journey where emotions be the interpretive lens for literature, art, and cinema, and where we will try to answer the following questions: Are emotions performative? What is the language of emotions in the diverse artistic expressions? Can emotions have a destabilizing power? What does it mean today to affect and be affected? What is the role of sadness, happiness, love, failure, depression or pain in contemporary fictions?
