The doctoral candidate Anabella Di Tullio Arias, researcher at Seminari Filosofia i Gènere, will defend her doctoral thesis, directed by Fina Birulés (Universitat de Barcelona), entitled "Teoría feminista y liberalismo: el devenir de una relación problemática". The thesis analyses the bonds and also the tensions between feminist theory and liberalism. Considering the distinction between those feminist thinkers who defend the compatibility between the two theories and those who refute a possible alliance between them, the research investigates the redefinition and resignification of the main categories of liberalism provided by political feminist theory.
