The doctoral candidate Claudia Calquín Donoso, who was awarded a CONICYT scholarship (Chile) and who is a researcher at the Seminari Filosofia i Gènere, will defend her doctoral thesis, directed by Fina Birulés (Universitat de Barcelona, entitled "De madres y de expertos: Saber/poder en el discurso psi sobre el cuidado materno". This thesis analyses the socio-sexual construction of maternal care and motherly love within the historical period following the Second World War (1945-1960), using Michel Foucault's thesis on the relationship between knowledge and power as a cue.
