Tras la pista. Narrativa criminal escrita por mujeres

Llibre

Elena Losada and Katarzyna Paszkiewicz, researchers at the Centre Dona i Literatura, have edited the volume Tras la pista. Narrativa criminal escrita por mujeres, published in the collection Mujeres y culturas (Icaria, 2015). This volume considers a less visible aspect of the boom in crime fiction: the abundant and decisive presence of women writers. From a philosphical perspective on women's violence to an analysis of the filmic and televisual representation of crime narratives, the essays in this book develop a wide range of topics: the reception and influence of Patricia Highsmith in Spain; the interaction between cultural identity and crime narratives through a panoramic vision of Catalonian, Basque, and Galician writers; the new women detectives, who have familiar and social ties unthinkable for canonical anti-heroes of crime novels; the subversion, parody, or assumption of stereotypes in the literary genre; the representation of violence against women and children and specifically the lesbian crime novel. Contributors include the editors and María Xosé Agra Romero, Cristina Alsina, Francesco Ardolino, Shelley Godsland and María Xesús Lama, among others.
