The PhD candidate Sónia Rita Melo, a recent doctoral research fellow at the Centre Dona i Literatura - Gènere, sexualitats, crítica de la cultura, will defend her doctoral thesis, supervised by Elena Losada Soler (Centre Dona i Literatura), entitled "Des-Dobra: re-visão e tradução. A construção da poetisa em Adília Lopes". This thesis seeks to read the work of the contemporary Portuguese poet Adília Lopes through the perspective of feminist studies and translation theory. By highlighting Lopes' impersonal style, the third body that her poetic texts draws, the way in which the author constructs herself as a local poet and protests the games played by authorities and those in power, through the female/male dichotomy. The final section of this research project proposes alternative ways of reading Lopes' works through the translation exercise undertaken and which employs the concept of "minoritorizing project", which privileges the écart (diviation) over textual difference.
