The most recent issue of Expressions maghrébines, a journal dedicated to Maghrebi culture included in the Arts and Humanities Citation Index, has just been published. Issue 14.1 offers a dossier coordinated by Joana Masó (Centre Dona i Literatura) and Gemma Ventura Mustienes (Universitat de Barcelona), entitled "Écrivaines d'Algérie: Fictions de l'origine, origines de la fiction". It discusses the works of writers Fadila al-Faruq, Latifa Ben Mansour, Maïssa Bey, Nina Bouraoui, Hélène Cixous, Assia Djebar, Malika Mokeddem, Ahlam Mosteghanemi, Leïla Sebbar and philosoper Catherine Malabou. The contributor's essays analyze their works, taking into consideration their social and historical context.
