On art and thought. Derrida and Mar Arza in editions by Joana Masó
Joana Masó, researcher with the Centre Dona i Literatura, has just published two co-editions reflecting on the relationship of contemporary art to critical thinking, reading and writing. The first is the volume Artes de lo visible (1979-2004), co-edited with Ginette Michaud and Javier Bassas, which is a collection of texts by the French philosopher Jacques Derrida, dedicated to the questions of art and esthetics, principally drawing, painting, photography, cinema and video, from the 1980s and 90s. The book, which is forthcoming in French by La Différence, has been published in Spanish and Portuguese translation, and will also appear in English. The second publication is the book-catalogue Mar Arza. Incís, dedicated to reading the artist's recent work, with essays by Faith Wilding, Carmen Pardo, Cristian Añó and by the curators and editors, Assumpta Bassas and Joana Masó. This book-catalogue is published conjointly with the exhibition of the artist organized by the Museu Molí Paperer de Capellades from March 24 to May 26, 2013, within the framework of the MAV-Mujeres Artes Visuales (Women Visual Arts), and co-edited by Duoda-UB:
