The Seminari Filosofia i Gènere, of the Consolidated Research Group (GRC) Creació i Pensament de les Dones, is organising the thesis workshop for Andrea Ruthven, researcher at the Centre Dona i Literatura. Her doctoral thesis, "Representing Feminist Bodies and/of Resistance: Reading Women's Bodies of Violence in Contemporary Dystopic Literatures", directed by Helena González Fernández, director of the Centre Dona i Literatura, and Belén Martín Lucas (Universidade de Vigo), analizes the confluence of the representations of women, their bodies and violence through feminist and gender studies, focusing on the figure of the heroine in a selection of contemporary dystopic novels and comics written in English. The thesis workshop, directed by Rosa Rius Gatell and coordinated by Georgina Rabassó, is an innovative teaching experience which consists in sharing the research trajectory during the elaboration of the doctoral dissertation.
