Readers of Judith Butler
C/ Montalegre 5 - 08001 Barcelona
The Institut d’Humanitats de Barcelona organizes the course “Readers of Judith Butler”, which will count with the participation of members from the Seminari Filosofia i Gènere and ADHUC-Centre de Recerca Teoria, Gènere, Sexualitat. The course is at the same time an introduction and a reading guide to the work of one of the most relevant thinkers of the contemporary critical philosophy. On the occasion of her visit to the CCCB, the Institut d’Humanitats de Barcelona has invited six great readers of Judith Butler to share their interpretation of some of the key aspects of her thought: from her crucial contribution to the problematization of the category of gender, which turned her book Gender Truble into one of the fundamental works of feminism and queer theory, to her reflections on recognition, vulnerability and violence and, more recently, on the collective forms of political action. The cost of the course is 35€ for students, unemployed, pensioners, older than 65 and friends of CCCB, and 50€ for the general public. Enroll online at cursos@cccb.org, at CCCB’s website or by calling 934 122 174.
The sessions will count with the participation of researchers from the project "La transmisión desde el pensamiento filosófico femenino” (FFI-2015-63828-P, MINECO/FEDER, UE).
