The course "Literature and memory: from Word to World", coordinated and taught by Cristina Alsina and Joana Masó (researchers at the Centre Dona i Literatura), aims at analyzing the topic of the representation and the always-difficult relationship between text and reality. The course, addressed to the students of the master and Phd program Construcció i Representació d'Identitats Culturals (CRIC), offers a selection of theoretical texts which brings forth an analysis of the use of ekphrasis in literature as a device that lays bare the conventional and artificial nature of the mimetic exercise in fiction. The course will be conducted in English and Spanish.
