El plaer de la lectura. Alice Munro i nou escriptores imprescindibles
Coordinated by Helena González Fernández and Andrea Ruthven, from the Centre Dona i Literatura, the objective of the course El plaer de la lectura. Alice Munro i nou escriptores imprescindibles is to draw attention to a long list of women writers who have made vital contributions to literature and the fictionalization of women's experiences and desires. Through the specialists leading the sessions, we will be encouraged to enjoy the pleasures of reading and coming to know the work of these ten authors from different cultures, as well as attempting to answer some common questions. Why are these authors essential and singular? To what extent have they made the quotidian into something exceptional? To which of the questions raised by our contemporary moment do their short stories and novels offer answers? As well as the coordinators, Àngels Carabí, Isabel Clúa, Elena Losada, Joana Masó and Dolores Resano from the Centre Dona i Literatura will participate along with Beatriz Ferrús (UAB), Mònica Rius (UB) and Anna Maria Villalonga (UB).
The course, comprised of ten two-hour sessions, has a cost of 140€; discounts are offered for members of the UB community, residents of Badalona (115 €), and people over 55 (95 €).
