Eva Van Hoey

Eva Van Hoey is a PhD student at the Department of Literary Studies at the University of Ghent (Research Foundation Flanders - FWO). In her doctoral project "'Ni Una Menos': la violencia de género bajo el prisma de la crónica latinoamericana contemporánea" she investigates how contemporary Latin American authors use the genre of the chronicle, a combination of literature and journalism, to denounce violence against women in the subcontinent and to react against discourses that represent gender violence in a stereotypical way. She is a member of Encuentro, the Latin American network in Belgium, CMSI (Cultural Memory Studies Initiative) and the HRRN research network (Human Rights Research Network). Her research interests include contemporary Latin American literature, gender studies and the representation of violence.
