Àngels CARABÍ was a professor of American literature at the Universitat de Barcelona, cofounder of the Centre Dona i Literatura. Gènere, sexualitats, crítica de la cultura, which she co-directed from 1994 to 2003, and researcher at ADHUC—Research Center for Theory, Gender, Sexuality. She has published the volume Toni Morrison: búsqueda de una identidad afroamericana (Barcelona, 1988), as well as many interviews and articles about American women writers of color. She has co-edited several essay volumes on women writers and gender studies. Her recent research focuses on multiculturalism in American literature and on the theory and criticism of masculinities. She has been the principal researcher of several projects on masculinities and the application of these theories to literature. She is the Spanish editor of the journal Men and Masculinities, and she is a member of the editorial board of the Anglophone journals Atlantis and Bells.
