Second ARDIT International Congress: Senses and sensuality in the Middle Ages
The Association for Interdisciplinary Research and Dissemination on Medieval Cultures (ARDIT), in collaboration with the Seminari Filosofia i Gènere of the Universitat de Barcelona, has organized the II ARDIT International Conference for Medievialists. This initiative looks to open the doors to multiple perspectives and to reflect on the senses and sensuality in the Middle Ages, which offers a wide variety of aspects related to the multiple narrations this topic inspires: the forms that knowledge takes, sensorial and spiritual pleasure or the artistic and literary forms that have captured the sensorial universe in the Middle Ages. As such, and with an interdisciplinary focus, the conference seeks to offer a platform for innovative research in multiple and corresponding areas, such as History, Philosophy, Art History or Philology, among others. Participants include Lucía Conte (Universitat Pompeu Fabra), María del Mar Graña Gil (Universitat Pontificia de Comillas), Josep Maria Romero Baró and Raimon Sebastian (Universitat de Barcelona).
