The Research Workshop "Racial Constructions in Early Modern Spain (II)", organized by Diana Berruezo-Sánchez (ADHUC-Universitat de Barcelona), follows on from previous discussions on the construction of race in early modern Iberia. It explores racial constructions from an interdisciplinary standpoint and brings to the conversation scholars of History, Musicology, Literary Studies and Anthropology. This series of seminars aim at understanding the processes that shaped the notions of Blackness in Iberia. Hosted in The Making of Blackness project, the workshop includes the following speakers: Stephanie Cavanaugh (University of Oxford); Maxim Rigaux (Universiteit Gent); Josep Pujol i Coll (ESMUC) and Andrea Rueda (Universidad Pablo de Olavide).
By invitation only.
