Masculinity, sexuality and culture in Spain and Latin America
The international symposium "Masculinidad, sexualidad y cultura en España y Hispanoamérica" will be held on December 13 and 14, coordinated by Rafael M. Mérida (ADHUC—Universitat de Lleida), and organized by the Centre ADHUC-Teoria, gènere, sexualitat. The purpose of the colloquium is to analyze sexual diversity, masculinities, and their artistic representations in a transcultural context. This event will consist of a master class by Jorge Luis Peralta (CONICET-Universidad Nacional de La Plata) and conferences and communications by researches such as Estrella Díaz (ADHUC), María Teresa Vera-Rojas (ADHUC-Universitat de Lleida), Raúl García (Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro), Dieter Ingenschay (Humboldt Universität zu Berlin), Alberto Mira (Oxford Brookes University) and Sebastià Portell (writer). The colloquium will end with the presentation of the essay Paisaje de varones. Genealogías del homoerotismo en la literatura argentina (Icaria, 2017), winner of the 1st ADHUC Prize in Gender and Sexual Studies, granted by Marta Segarra (LEGS-CNRS) and Alberto Mira.
