The GenViPreF project in collaboration with Brooklyn College (CUNY) and Stony Brook University (SUNY) organizes the workshop "Women in Press: Gender Violence in the 19th Century Spanish Press", which will analyse the work of authors such as Rosalía de Castro, Emilio Pardo Bazán or Concepción Gimeno de Flaquer in nineteenth-century publications such as El Correo de la Moda, La Ilustración de la Mujer, Ellas or El Nuevo Teatro Crítico. The analysis of the representation of gender-based violence will be the subject of a critical forum with the participation of the specialist in gender studies Bernardita Llanos (Brooklyn College, CUNY). The study of the representation of women in the nineteenth-century press will be discussed with the participation of the hispanist Lou Charnon-Deutsch (SUNY-Stony Brook).
