Gender, Ethics, and Care. Making Visible the Violence toward Women during Pregnancy

The final program of the III International Conference "Género, Ética y Cuidado. Visibilizando la violencia hacia las mujeres en el embarazo", which will take place from May 16 to May 18, 2018, has just been published. The aim of this activity is to conceptualize, make visible, and address those situations of violence that take place during pregnancy through a dialogue with professionals and academics on the best approaches to gender violence detection and management. Amongst the participants will be Fina Birulés, Josefina Goberna and Elena Losada (ADHUC—Universitat de Barcelona), Lina Meruane (New York University), Carme Adán (Comisión de Xénero do Consello da Cultura Galega) and Helen L. Watson (midwife). This conference will also host different roundtables. Previous registration is required. The deadline for submitting proposals is open until April 10, 2018, and those interested to participate must send an email with the following information to violenciasembarazo@gmail.com:

• An abstract (up to two 1.5-spaced pages, written in Times New Roman, 12). This abstract must be written in Catalan, Spanish, or English, and must include the title, objective, methodology, results, discussion and conclusions of the paper.
• The author’s name, email address, phone number, academic title, institution, and job title.
• A biographical note (maximum 500 words, CV format will not be accepted).

This conference is coorganized with ADHUC—Centre de Recerca Teoria, Gènere, Sexualitat, the project RecerCaixa EU COST Action IS1405 and the Ministerio de Sanidad, Servicios Sociales e Igualdad.
