Jean-Luc Nancy. La comunitat revocada
French philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy will give a lecture on his latest book, La Communauté désavouée, in dialogue with Joana Masó (Centre Dona i Literatura) and Felip Martí-Jufresa (ISDAT-Institut Supérieur d'Arts de Toulouse), and the artists of the exhibition "La realitat invocable", curated by Montse Badia at MACBA. The starting point of the lecture will be the publication of Nancy's seminal volume La Communauté désoeuvrée (1983), which will lead Nancy to reflect on the concept of community today and on the "communal" nature of existence, both as an irrefutable egalitarian element which is prior to any distinction, as well as that which is shared and only exists in such a relationship. For Nancy, this is a question which is both political and philosophical, engaging in contemporary debates on comunitarianism and national identity as well as in an "ontology of the we".
The lecture will be in French, with simultaneous interpretation. Entrance is free. Places are limited.
