Huellas feministas en el arte visual contemporáneo: "arte coño" y otras representaciones del cuerpo sexuado
Lourdes Méndez (Universidad del País Vasco / Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea) will give a lecture entitled "Huellas feministas en el arte visual contemporáneo: 'arte coño' y otras representaciones del cuerpo sexuado". Méndez is an anthropologist specialized in feminism and art. She has directed, together with Xabier Arakistain, the volume Producción artística y teoría feminista del arte: nuevos debates, and has participated in numerous courses and catalogues and curated art exhibitions on feminist and queer art in Bilbao, such as Guerrilla Girls 1985-2013. Her research is focused on the position occupied by female artists in the field of artistic production, especially as regards the recognition they get in such a restricted field. Attendance is free.
