Hemeroteca feminista galega

This year's Xornadas Xénero e Documentación III in Santiago de Compostela has featured the presentation of A Saia. Hemeroteca feminista galega, coedited by the Consello da Cultura Galega and the Centre Dona i Literatura, under the supervision of Helena González Fernández and Mariam Mariño. This digital collection includes the periodicals A Saia, Andaina (1st phase) and Festa da palabra silenciada (numbers 1 to 9). Every section grants access to a complete digital reproduction of each volume of the magazine, including a basic index and a complete, fully documentated index, which permits, for the first time, an in-depth knowledge of the individuals and organizations that collaborated in these periodicals. This knowledge is fundamental if one seeks to explore the debates within the lesbian and feminist movements and to understand the decade of the 1980s in its full historical complexity. The documentation team was made up by Adina Mocanu (Centre Dona i Literatura) and Jennifer Rodriguez (University of Liverpool). The publication of this digital collection, whose second phase is expected for 2015, is the result of the agreement in effect between the Consello da Cultura Galega - Comisión de Igualdade and the Centre Dona i Literatura to carry out research activities in the field of gender and sexuality in Galician culture.
