What do celebrity studies contribute to gender theories? How have actresses managed their visibility in a territory of masculine and capitalist fantasies? What are the paradoxes within this commercial relationship? These are some of the questions that Isabel Clúa (ADHUC-Universidad de Sevilla) will answer in her master class titled "De mercancías y vendedoras: las paradojas de la celebridad". Clúa is a specialist in gender, literature, popular culture and celebrity in contemporary times. Among her most recent publications is the book Cuerpos de escándalo. Celebridad femenina en el fin-de-siècle (colección Mujeres y Culturas, Icaria).
