Marilar Aleixandre, writer and academic of the Academia Galega, offers the lecture "As malas mulleres. Escrita subversiva, interrogando a familia e a tradición". In her latest novel, As malas mulleres (Galaxia, 2021) / Les males dones (Joker, 2023), winner of the 2022 National Fiction Award, she denounces the different forms of violence against women. The social violence suffered by poor, imprisoned, and refugee women. The symbolic violence imposed by the weight of traditions through unwanted maternity or the responsibility of care and unpaid labor. The many forms of violence on women's bodies. And the vindication of insubmissive women as a form of subversion.

The Catalan translation of the book is presented on the same day at Llibreria Ona in Barcelona.

This activity is part of the Cycle "Non só Rosalía de Castro", organized by Portuguese and Galician Studies and ADHUC-Centre de Recerca Teoria, Gènere, Sexualitat. Intervention in Galician. Free attendance.
