Ana Paula Maia: la lírica de la brutalitat
Pere Comellas (Universitat de Barcelona) will give the lecture "Ana Paula Maia: la lírica de la brutalitat" as part of the lecture cycle "No només Clarice Lispector", which will take place from March to May and will offer sessions devoted to the writers Patrícia Melo, Clarice Lispector and Marilene Ribeiro. Ana Paula Maia is a Brazilian writer, scriptwriter and musician and she is the author of the trilogy A saga dos brutos which started with two short novels, Entre rinhas de cachorros e porcos abatidos and O trabalho sujo dos outros (2009), and concluded with the novel Carvão animal (2011). The lecture will analyze violence inasmuch as it is the central theme of her fictional universe. This event is held as part of the activities of the research project "Women and Crime Novel in Spain (1975-2010): Women Writers, Power Figures, Victims and Criminals (MUNCE)". Attendance is free.
