Students and professionals with experience, training or a general interest in the main challenges of nutrition and food safety, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries.
The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
- To understand the main nutritional problems with an impact on health, survival and the development potential of populations in developing countries.
- To acquire a general understanding of nutritional status at a family, community, national and international level, exploring how malnutrition can be prevented or reduced in the absence of sufficient economic development through public and private intervention.
- To understand current challenges in food safety.
