Access for candidates not in possession of a university degree:
Students who do not hold a university degree may be admitted to this course, and will receive a university extension certificate on completion. In such cases, candidates will have to provide proof of prior experience in the sector and will have to submit their curriculum vitae and transcript for their most recent qualification, as well as a covering letter explaining their interest in the programme.
The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
General objective:
to deepen, strengthen and sharpen the critical, ethical and practical vision in the area of disability.
Critical perspective:
- Learn about the historical and conceptual evolution of the various paradigms and their models for understanding, training and raising awareness regarding human rights and people with disabilities.
- Equip professionals with the tools they need to analyse, diagnose and understand the social situation of people with disabilities and further their knowledge of the new challenges being posed.
Ethical perspective:
Strengthen and spread the personal autonomy paradigm based on the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
- Promote the value of inclusive culture for improving humankind's quality of life and the development of the ethics of good living, recognizing the role and resource that people with disabilities can play and be in this process.
Practical perspective:
- Draw attention to the current situation of people with disabilities and, in particular, of women and girls with disabilities, through the double prism of gender and disability.
- Foster the ability to play a purposeful role and be a constructive force for addressing practical situations of discrimination, helping to improve the quality of life of the people involved.
