Introduction
The blood phobia is characterized by irrational fear of situations related with
blood and wounds. Moreover, the injection phobia produces an intense fear of these said
injections. The main feature of these two phobias, differentiating it from the rest, is that
people who have it have high chances of fainting.
The main objective of this study is to validate the environment created and find out if these
two phobias are different or the same, as there are some authors who say that is one phobia
and others say they are different phobias.
Method
To test this hypothesis, a virtual environment is administered to 41 subjects, which
consisted of two rooms, one to detect only the fear of blood and the other to check the fear
of injections.
After analyzing the results, it was concluded that the virtual environment is valid, because
people react at the sight of it, and that these two phobias are the same, since the results
were no significant correlations between anxiety in blood phobia and phobia of injections.
