The service learning projects in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Science can be found in different academic fields:

• Summer camp for kids and teenagers with diabetes mellitus type I

This summer camp enables the student from the Human Nutrition and Dietetics degree to learn about diabetes mellitus in a real context. It contributes to the theoretical knowledge acquired in the degree while providing a service to the community. The students teach the kids who suffer from diabetes some tools to be more autonomous and be able to have a better control of their illness. The students interact with the professionals who work with this kids. This activity is part of a class and is assessed with a report and a public presentation.

• Placement practice:

The faculty of Pharmacy and Food Science has an agreement with the Redd Cross and Nutrition without borders, organizations where students can develop their placement practices each year.

• Sharing Ideas, University goes to high school

The students have participated in the cross curricular project during 2016-2017 with some conferences and workshops.
