I am PhD in Computer
Vision and Machine Learning and Professor at
the University of Barcelona. "Data involves
us, and a funny way to understand their
power consists of playing and visualizing
them.
Jordi Vitrià
Associate Director
I am Professor at the
Universitat de Barcelona. I teach
introductory courses on algorithms and data
mining to undergraduate CS students. My long
term research objective is to understand the
fundamental processes underlying the visual
perception of the real world to derive new
computer vision algorithms that, one day,
may enable machines to see.
Oriol Pujol
I am tenured Associate
Professor at the Universitat de Barcelona. I
teach Agile software development,
computational photography and machine
learning. My main research interest is core
machine learning and its application to real
world problems. I think that the role of a
data scientists is to "build big magnets for
finding needles in haystacks and process
those haystacks into fodder.
Petia Radeva
I am an Associate
Professor at the Universitat de Barcelona. I
teach introductory courses on Data
structures and Computer Vision to
undergraduate and graduate CS students. My
long term research objective is to promote
the design and development of novel Computer
Vision algorithms as well as their
application to our daily life, specially
health.
Laura Igual
I am Tenured Associate
Professor at the University of Barcelona. My
current research interests include medical
imaging, with focus on neuroimaging,
computer vision and machine learning.
Sergio Escalera
I am Tenured Associate Professor at the University of
Barcelona. My research is in human behavior
analysis from depth and regular cameras.
Lluís Garrido
I am teanured Associate
Professor at the University of Barcelona. I
teach concurrent, parallel and distributed
computing to CS undergraduate students. My
research is in Image Processing and
multi-view Computer Vision.

Eloi Puertas
I am teanured Lecturer
at the University of Barcelona. I teach
Distributed Systems to undergraduate CS
students. My research is in general
meta-learning techniques for machine
learning.
Montserrat Guillen
I am Professor of Econometrics at the UB. My research is on risk analysis and actuarial statistics. I am recently working of automobile telematics data analytics.
Jordi Nin
PhD in Artificial Intelligence with a strong background
combining academic research and innovation activities. Expert on machine learning, big data analytics and privacy-preserving data mining.
Josep Perello
Associate Professor in the Department of Fundamental Physics at the University of Barcelona. He leads the OpenSystemsUB research group, which focuses on citizen participation and artistic practices as an alternative way of doing science. He works on complex systems, particularly in social and economic contexts.
Albert Diaz-Guilera
Being by education a statistical physicist, my research lines had been broadening to cover aspects in many different fields: biology, economy, social sciences, computer science, linguistics
