Formsheets and documentation

Below are the forms with the required documentation for the processing of research projects that have to be submitted for evaluation by the CBUB. The forms must be signed by the principal investigator of the project and in the case of theses/TFM/TFG by the director and/or tutor and the student.

According to the characteristics, objectives and methodology of the project, one of the following options should be used.

Declaration of existence of experiments with humans or the use of biological samples of human origin and/or animal experimentation

Research projects or PhD theses which:

• Involve experimentation with humans
• Involves the use of biological samples of human origin
• Involves animal experimentation (should include the approval from the Animal Experimentation Ethics Committee)

Declaration of recognition of ethical implications in interactions with human beings and social intervention

Research Projects or PhD theses which involve studies such as: 

• Behavioral studies
• Observational studies
• Archaeological and field studies
• Interviews
• Life stories
• Questionnaires
• Similar 

2023 version: Form 2

Declaration of interactions with human subjects or social interventions and experiments with human subjects or the use of biological samples of human origin in research projects

Research projects or doctoral theses that involve some of the assumptions included in Form 1 and also some of those considered in Form 2.

TFG and TFM evaluation

In the case of:

• Master's Degree Final Projects (TFM)
• Final Degree Project (TFG), or
• Practicum Reports (MP)​

which, according to their characteristics, objectives and methodology should be revised by the CBUB and fill in the corresponding form, the researcher should, together with his/her tutor, sign a commitment form (apart from the specific commitments) to ensure that the project or study respects the ethical standards elaborated by the CBUB. This commitment sheet should be attached with the rest of the documentation.

This commitment sheet will be part of the presented work and it will be taken into account by the different tribunals that have to evaluate such work, together with the scientific and technical standards.
