Alfabet monoespaiat

Els alfabets tipogràfics monoespaiats són aquells en els quals tots els seus caràcters tenen el mateix ample. Per tant, caràcters com la "l" i la "w" han d'expandir-se i condensar-se respectivament per mantenir l'espaiat uniforme. Els alfabets tipogràfics monoespaiats han estat utilitzats principalment en les màquines d'escriure tot i que actualment les trobem en diferents usos com, per exemple, per a les inicials.

Monospaced refers to characters that have the same width value. In this type of font, the letters I and w have the same width, making it necessary to extend the I and condense the w to keep spacing consistent. Typewriters are the primary users of monospace typefaces, though some computer fonts also use them. They are usually ten characters per inch (called pica) or twelve characters to the inch (called elite). The monospace typefaces exist nowadays mostly for novelty reasons. They are generally used for initials. There are also fonts (some monospaced and some proportional) that simulate the look of of a typewriter.

Ús del terme "tipografia"… i "ample de caixa"… i "tipografistes"… "És un tipus de lletra"…??

Si marqueu «Altres», especifiqueu-ho a «Observacions».

Compte amb ortografia/redacció.

No us limiteu a fonts d'internet de la mena "blogs": demostra poca competència de recerca i empobreix el resultat.

Compte confusions greus: llegiu bé i resumiu millor. Les fonts consultades poden ser equivocades: és feina vostra detectar-ho i expressar-ho (a Observacions, per exemple).
