Documents required

First-time students

In all cases, you must present the valid identification document at the time of registration:

In the case of Spanish students or residents of Spain, the DNI or residence card.
In the case of foreign students from outside the European Union, the passport or the TIE (stranger identification card).
In the case of foreign students of the European Union, the passport or the document d'identitat expedited by the competent authority of the country of origin or the NIE (foreign identification number).

In the case of requesting any exemption, bonus and/or free of charge, you must present the documentation determined by the regulations to prove the fulfillment of the requirements

It is not necessary to provide this documentation if the UB is authorized to carry out the necessary checks through electronic consultation to the corresponding administration.

Furthermore, you must provide the corresponding academic documentation according to the provenance and the corresponding additional documentation, according to the following:

Official academic certificate awarded for the successful completion of a Spanish university degree, including either one of the UB-specific undergraduate degrees (graduat), an undergraduate diploma (diplomatura), a llicenciatura degree (the outgoing Spanish degree qualification generally awarded for a 4- to 6-year course of higher educational study and entitling the holder to begin doctoral studies), an engineering or technical engineering degree, or else a degree in architecture or in technical architecture.	Original and copy of the substituting degree certificate. UB graduates need only include their academic record.
Accredited degree certificate awarded outside Spain with officially recognized equivalence to its corresponding Spanish diploma, degree or technical accredited degree.	Credential of homologation or declaration of equivalence at university degree level, issued by the competent ministry in the field.
Non-accredited degree certificate awarded outside Spain without officially recognized equivalence to its corresponding Spanish diploma, degree or technical official degree issued by a higher education institution regulated by the European Higher Education Area.	Original and copy of the substituting degree certificate. Original and copy of the document accrediting that the degree certificate grants the student admission to master's degree in the country in which it was issued. Receipt of payment of the fee for the document certifying that the student's international degree qualifications is equivalent to the Spanish degree qualification entitling the student to be admitted to the master's degree course. This is updated each academic year in the Generalitat of Catalonia’s Decree on fees. Students in possession of academic documents issued outside Spain that are required by the UB for administrative purposes must ensure that they have original copies issued by the competent authorities, in accordance with the applicable legal framework in the country of issue. In most cases, these documents must be translated and legalized.
Non-accredited degree certificate awarded outside Spain without officially recognized equivalence to its corresponding Spanish diploma, official degree or technical official degree issued by a higher education institution not regulated by the European Higher Education Area.	Original and copy of the substituting degree certificate. Original and copy of the document accrediting that the degree certificate grants the student admission to master's degree in the country in which it was issued. Original of the corresponding authorization issued by the relevant UB office. Receipt of payment of the fee for the document certifying that the student's international degree qualifications is equivalent to the Spanish degree qualification entitling the student to be admitted to the master's degree course.
