Jason Evans, Open Data Manager, Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru / The National Library of Wales

​Jason Evans has been instrumental in advancing open access and digital transformation initiatives. Starting as a Wikipedian in Residence, he transitioned to his current role, focusing on integrating Wikimedia projects into the library’s operations. His work emphasizes the development of linked open data infrastructures, notably through projects like the Welsh Name Authority Wikibase, which connects over 100,000 Welsh people and places across various collections. Evans is also recognized for his strategic approach to digital scholarship, advocating for open knowledge and the use of Wikimedia platforms to enhance the accessibility and visibility of Welsh cultural heritage.

Master’s Degree in Digital Humanities (currently being redesigned)
This interdisciplinary master’s program involves five faculties at the University of Barcelona: Philosophy, Philology and Communication, Mathematics and Computer Science, Geography and History and Information and Audiovisual Means.

The program aims to train professionals specialized in the design of original and innovative projects in the field of digital humanities and the management of digital heritage. Students develop expertise in digital technologies, data representation, processing of diverse types of information, and the legal frameworks related to authorship, reproduction, and dissemination of digital knowledge and objects.

The program is currently undergoing a redesign to update its content and structure, strengthen its interdisciplinary approach, and respond to emerging challenges in the field.
