The UB is once more the top Spanish university in SCImago Institutional Rankings
The University of Barcelona holds the top position in Spain among the higher education institutions in the latest edition of SCImago Institutional Rankings, a list in which it appears on the 104 position worldwide. With this ranking, the UB has upgraded 15 positions compared to last yearʼs edition.

This ranking assesses the research performance of more than 4,000 academic and research institutions worldwide using different indicators based on the research output, results of innovation and social impact of each centre.
Other Spanish universities follow the UB in the ranking: the Autonomous University of Barcelona (113), the Complutense University of Madrid (151), the Autonomous University of Madrid (189), the University of Valencia (196) and the University of Granada (230).
The leading institutions listed in this new edition of the SCImago IR are Harvard University, followed by Harvard Medical School, Tsingua University, Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
