Gunflint oriented flint mines in southen Poland revealed by Airborne Laser Scanning: first approach to the study of modern flint mining in Poland

Study of gunflint materials has not been one of the most investigated subjects in Polish lithic studies. Over the last few years though, it has become a more popular topic. The subjects of raw material sources and mining methods are no longer problems of research in this field. We know, from historical sources, that the largest area of mining was located in southern Poland and based on Jurassic flint. The largest manufacturing of gunflints in Poland took place from the 18th to 19th century.
