1.  The name, which platform(s), under which version of the OS, date
of latest revision, min. memory requirement, programming language its written in
GRIDCOR version 4.0 for Windows 95 and later versions, PC platform.
This version is just released. Min. memory required 32 M, Written in
        Visual Basic

        2. Forms of input and output; input limitations; which (natural, not programming)
language is used, how friendly is it from the users point of view? (You can do a PC
grid analysis in SPSS but, last time I looked, you end up having to draw the construct
lines by hand using the coordinates the output provides!)

GRIDCOR has a Windows input interface (just like the paper-and-pencil
grid) so that grid data and labels are kept in text files.

They can also be produced using a word processor.

                        * Automatic, and very fast, three-page printout with main analyses for
                           busy practitioners.
                       * Results can be either printed from GRIDCOR or saved on files to be
edited and printed using a word processor.
                       * Prints the following graphic displays:
-A diagram for each axis or factor
-Conjoint plotting of any combination of two of the five axes or factors
-Cluster trees for both elements and constructs
                                              -Focused grid.

                      * All graphic displays are ready to use for the practitioner because
                         they include readable labels.
               * Interactive menu for displaying labels in the two-axes display.

              3. Main computations performed (e.g. clustering, PC analysis, sociogrids, and is
anyone out there offering a straightforward difference grids routine I wonder?)

              * Performs the following analyses on your grid data:
-Correspondence analysis a factor analytic method with several
advantages over principal component analysis, as explained in the Manual)
                                  -Two-way cluster analysis
-Focusing the grid (based on the above cluster analysis)
-Distance and correlation matrices for both elements and constructs
                                  -Conflict analysis

                    * Calculates the following global grid measures:
-PVAFF (Percentage of Variance Accounted by the First Factor),
                                         -Bannister's Intensity
                                         -Bieri's Cognitive Complexity
                                         -Discriminative Power (Landfield's Ordination)
-Extremity of ratings, Extremity bias, Rating range, and conflict scores.

                  * Calculates the following measures for each construct and element:
                                         -Co-ordinates and contributions
-Intensity (% of variance accounted for)
                                         -Discriminative power
                                         -Extremity of ratings

           NEW FEATURES OF VERSION 4.0:

                                       - Identifies implicative dilemmas
                                       - Computes scores for implicative dilemmas
(more info about this in our research program web: www.usal.es/tcp)
                               - Computes FIC (Landfield)

            4. Backups, e.g. manual, website support. I know of two packages which offer website support but
                      there may be others!

Support is provided by e-mail to me (gfeixas@psi.ub.es)
Web site manual is in progress.

You can download an evaluation copy from
                     www.terapiacognitiva.net (look for gridcor)

Once installed you can access GRIDCOR up to five times for
free. After that, the program asks you to enter the license code that
must be purchased accoding to the web page instructions. In that very
same screen the program gives you user code that is necessary to
build the license number that will make the program functional again
                      in case you buy.
