- The PROMISE Project
STEPS is a holistic, multi-agency, educational and training project, which aims to have skilled and coordinated professionals with expert knowledge in evaluation and intervention with child victims.
The STEPS project aims to create and implement an educational and training program based on simulation and evidence-based practice. Its main objective is to help professionals develop abilities and capabilities to work within the Barnahus model.
The purpose is for professionals to acquire comprehensive knowledge that allows them to prevent secondary victimization of children developing a rigorous and accurate intervention.

Two different training courses: a general education course on child sexual victimization, the Barnahus model and secondary victimization; and three specific courses on medical and psychological forensic assessment, as well as clinical intervention with child victims.

It allows you to recreate scenarios and develop specific skills by immersing and interacting with families and victims in a low-risk scenario.
The exchange with experienced professionals and specialists, allow participants learn from this set of knowledge and skills incorporating them into their practice and background.
Intervention of national and international experts in the topics discussed ensures the quality and continuity of the Barnahus model.
The STEPS project is made up of the University of Barcelona, Save the Children and the Hospital de Sant Joan de Déu.
