PhD in Philosophy from the University of Barcelona
Blanca Llorca gained her PhD in Philosophy with the thesis “Experience and Imitation in Machiavelli. Political Figures in the Genesis of the Ottimo Principe,” which was awarded with the extraordinary prize for a doctoral thesis. She graduated in Philosophy from the University of Valencia in 2008 and subsequently completed a Master’s in Philosophy and Classical Studies at the University of Barcelona.
On the same topic as her thesis she has published, amongst other articles: “The Past and Present of The Prince. An interview with Francesco Bausi” (2013); “On the lunga esperienza delle cose moderne in the Work of Niccolò Machiavelli” (2012); “Blurring Outlines. On Foundation and Conquest in The Prince” (2012); “Machiavelli’s Diplomacy. A Study of His Missions to Cesare Borgia” (2010-11); and “Machiavelli, Cesare Borgia and the mille mutazioni” (2010). She has worked with the Filosofia i Gènere Seminar since 2009 and with the research groups “Women Philosophers of the 20th Century: Mentors, Links and Divergences” and “Women’s Creation and Thought.”
