The Seminari Filosofia i Gènere – ADHUC in the 9th Barcelona Pensa Festival

On Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 November, will take place the 9th Barcelona Pensa, this year in the format of a philosophical marathon. A philosophy festival directed by À. Lorena Fuster (SFG-ADHUC, UB) and José Díez (UB).

The festival will include the participation of several researchers from the Seminari Filosofia i Gènere and the ADHUC—Centre de Teoria, Gènere, Sexualitat.

First of all, in the “Research Fair”, the session that opens the programme, will intervene on behalf of the SFG and ADHUC Mònica Rius, À. Lorena Fuster, Carmen Revilla, Andrea Pérez Fernández and Ánxela Lema. Together with other research groups of the Faculty, they will present the lines of research and the philosophical production and activities of the different groups.

Also, in the session “Feminist Conversations, a time for alliances?”, Clara Serra (ADHUC, UB) and Bàrbara Ramajo will reflect on the proposals and strategies to make alliances between feminisms in the present.

The session “Ephemerides. Aristotle, Proust, Grouchy and Tractatus logico-philosophicus”, will feature, among others, the intervention of Júlia Vernet (SFG-ADHUC, UB) on Sophie de Grouchy. On the other hand, Núria Sara Miras Boronat (SFG-ADHUC, UB) and Júlia Martín Badia will present the books “Democràcia i ètica social, Jane Addams” and “Privilege Walk. Una eina socioeducativa per reflexionar sobre gènere, capacitats i salut mental” at the Pròleg bookshop.

And in the session “Philosophical radio, what spaces are left for press freedom? Journalism, media business and politics”, Montserrat Crespín (ADHUC, UB) and Noemí Polls will question who owns the means of production in the world of the press, the limits of the journalistic task, the cohabitation of business corporations with the centres of political power and how this can distort the “communication of facts”.
