Would you like to join us for a coffee with researchers from the Faculty?

Starting on September 25 and running until early December, on alternating Wednesdays, the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit of the University of Barcelona will host a series of seven colloquiums where UB researchers will share their expertise on current issues. The topics are diverse, and each will be analyzed from different areas of knowledge. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy conversation and rigorous debate on very relevant topics. We provide the coffee and research, and you bring the dialogue and exchange of opinions.

Several researchers from the Faculty of Economics and Business will participate in these debates:

Es busca pis“: Recently, the difficulty of finding housing in Barcelona, as well as in other Catalan cities, has become a frequent news topic. How did we get to this point? What historical events led to this situation? Is the situation similar in the rest of Europe? The difficulties in accessing housing have multiple and varied causes and consequences. What do we know about them? What drives price increases, and how and when will this situation stabilize?

  • Specialists: Jordi Jofre Monseny (Faculty of Economics and Business), Chantal Moll de Alba Lacuve and Juli Ponce Solé (Faculty of Law).
  • Moderator: Marga Becerra (Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit).
  • Date and time: November 20, 2024, at 6:30 PM.

Ciència i evidència en els models educatius“: Changes in school curricula have been constant over the years, often causing chaos in educational institutions. What criteria are used to implement these changes? And regarding educational models, what research supports their implementation?

This project is organized by the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+I) of UB, thanks to the collaboration of various UB faculties and research institutes. It is supported by the Vice-Rectorate for Doctoral Studies, Research Staff in Training and Talent Attraction, and the Vice-Rectorate for Research, as well as by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology of the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities. It is co-financed by the Horizon Europe research and innovation program of the European Union, under the NitRecerCat2425 project (101162003).
