Two UB School of Economics PhD students awarded SEBAP mobility grants
From a total of 15 mobility scholarships, 2 research mobility grants by the Barcelona Economic Society of Friends of the Country (SEBAP) have been awarded to the UB School of Economics. The recipients are Sofia Balladares and Martí Jané.
The grant provides 4.200 euros in funding for a visiting period at a foreign institution. In this case, the students have chosen the University of Michigan, and the VU Amsterdam. The award ceremony took place at the Saló de Cent of the Barcelona City Hall on March 19, 2025.
Sofia Balladares: Sofia will join the Departament of Economics at the University of Michigan under the supervision of Prof. Joel Slemrod. She will develop a chapter of her thesis on the incidence of the Corporate Tax in Spain and its impact on automation.
Martí Jané: Martí will join the School of Business and Economics at VU Amsterdam under the supervision of Prof. René van den Brink. The objective of his research stay is to study the fair distribution of costs and responsibilities for river cleaning, using tools from Game Theory.
