3 Researchers join the UB School of Economics in early 2023
The UB School of Economics has recruited 3 new researchers in 2023. More specifically, two Beatriu de Pinós research fellow joined the Department of Economics, and a Ramon y Cajal fellow joined the Department of Economic, Financial and Actuarial Mathematics. The new UB School of Economics researchers are:
Cristina Belles: Cristina joined the Department of Economics, Public Economics Section as a Beatriu de Pinós postdoctoral researcher. She obtained her PhD in Economics from the University of Pompeu Fabra in 2017. She has previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Mannheim. Her main research fields are Health Economics, Economics of Education, and Labour & Demographic Economics.
Francisco Villavicencio: Francisco joined the Department of Economic, Financial and Actuarial Mathematics as a Ramón y Cajal research fellow. He received his PhD in Statistics from the University of Southern Denmark in 2017. He previously worked at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA, and at the Centre for Demographic Studies of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He is a demographer, statistician and data scientist interested in the study of how population dynamics affect public health and aging, with special emphasis on mortality, causes of death and longevity.
Tsz-Ning Wong: Tsz-Ning joined the Department of Economics and Economic Theory Section as a Beatriu de Pinós postdoctoral researcher. He has previously worked at Aalto University, the University of Basel and the University of Mannheim. He received his PhD in Economics from the Pennsylvania State University in 2016. His research interests include Game Theory, Microeconomics and Political Economy.
