The UB School of Economics welcomes a new cohort of graduate students
The UB School of Economics welcomed new students to the Master’s and the PhD in Economics programmes in the academic year 2021-2022. The large majority of our students has an international profile, represented by ten different nationalities for the PhD programme and eight for the Master’s students. In both programmes, 77% of them are from outside Spain.
The diverse group of people that make up the master’s degree will now pursue a cutting-edge programme designed to train and educate young economists to undertake top research in Economics. This programme has been accredited with Excellence by the Universities Council and also achieved the Additional Dimension of Internationalisation with the maximum score of Quality-level Compliant. The new group of students graduated from world-class universities such as the University of Geneva, University of São Paulo, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, University of Texas, University of Massachusetts Amherst, Korea University, among others.
Students enrolled in the PhD in Economics are taking part in one of the few doctoral programmes in Spain to have received the Quality Award for Research Excellence from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, which acknowledges the quality and impact of the research carried out within the PhD framework. They graduated with a Master’s degree from prestigious institutions like University College Dublin, University of Mannheim, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, Bogazici University, Warwick University, and the University of Barcelona.
Additionally, twelve Erasmus+ students will join the MSc in Economics class – eight during the first semester of this academic year and four during the second one. Specifically, the Erasmus+ students come from Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Aix-Marseille University, University of Amsterdam, University of Copenhagen, and University of Bologna.
