MSc in Economics at the UB School of Economics accredited with Excellence by the Universities Council
The MSc in Economics programme at the Universitat de Barcelona School of Economics has obtained the overall qualification of “accreditation with excellence”, awarded by the Universities Council after an evaluation by the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU). This seal is acquired when a study programme successfully undergoes an evaluation process and complies to a high level with the majority of the accreditation criteria and numerous good practices exceed the required minimum.
Training programme quality, lecturer suitability for the programme, efficiency of training support schemes and training programme results are just some of the accreditation criteria that were assessed by the External Evaluation Committee. The accreditation process also revealed specific strengths and good practices, such as the track record and the recognition gained by Faculty of Economics and Business, the quality and adequacy of facilities and the wide range of lecturer profiles and areas of expertise. Finally, the Evaluation Committee pointed out the high academic level of the lecturers that teach on the programme and the high level of employability among MSc in Economics graduates.
The MSc in Economics is a high-quality master’s programme entirely taught in English that prepares economists to undertake cutting-edge research at one of the world’s leading higher education institutions. On successfully completing the programme, students can expect to find employment in a broad range of sectors, including higher education and economic consulting. Joan Calzada Aymerich is director of the programme since January 2017, when he took over the position from previous director Marina Núñez.
