Innoredes project led by UB School of Economics researchers successfully achieves goals
The Innoredes project led by the Regional Quantitative Analysis Group (AQR) at the Universitat de Barcelona School of Economics has successfully achieved the goals set when funding was awarded by BBVA Foundation two years ago. Innoredes is the short name for “Technological Cooperation Networks and Innovation. Determinants and impact on Spanish Firms’ Competitiveness”, one of the five selected projects in the field of socioeconomics.
AQR researchers have provided robust evidence on the role played by technological cooperation and the participation in global networks of innovation in the success of Spanish firms. The project has also studied the impact of such networks on the economic performance of firms, especially in regards to international competitiveness, job creation and inequalities. The 2016 Barcelona Workshop on Regional and Urban Economics marked the end of the project. The event focused on innovation and the spatial diffusion of knowledge.
This project was carried out by a team of seven AQR researchers at the Universitat de Barcelona School of Economics: Rosina Moreno, Josep Lluís Carrión, Enrique López-Bazo, Raúl Ramos, Vicente Royuela, Jordi Suriñach and Esther Vayá. Researchers from London School of Economics, University of Bordeaux and the Centre for North South Economic Research also contributed to the project. More information can be found in the Innoredes blog and the YouTube channel.
