UB’s Gianmarco Daniele awarded a Juan de la Cierva fellowship
The postdoctoral researcher at the UB’s Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB) Gianmarco Daniele has been awarded a Juan de la Cierva fellowship from the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. This funding is designed to encourage the recruitment of recent PhD graduates in Spanish R&D centres other than those where they pursued their predoctoral studies. Daniele holds a Master’s degree from the Universiteit Antwerpen and a PhD from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. The duration of the Fellowship is two years and the total award is €25,000 per year. Daniele joined the Faculty of Economics and Business and the IEB as a postdoctoral researcher on 2015. He has focused his research on issues such as organised crime in Italy, political dynasties in the municipalities of the country, the link between social capital and social trust and family ties, and the informal economy in the case of street vendors in India. At the IEB, Daniele will continue his research with a more exhaustive work in the case of the informal economy in India.
