24 Researchers join the UB School of Economics in 2023 and early 2024

The UB School of Economics is pleased to introduce 24 new researchers who have joined our faculty in 2023 and early 2024.

• Cristina Belles: Cristina joined the Department of Economics (Public Economics section) as a Beatriu de Pinós research fellow. She received her PhD in Economics from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in 2017.
• Laia Bosque-Mercader: Laia joined joined the Department of Econometrics, Statistics, and Applied Economics (Public Policies section) as a Ramón Areces postdoctoral researcher. She received her PhD in Economics from the University of York in 2022.
• Caroline Coly: Caroline joined the Department of Economics (Public Economics section) as a postdoctoral researcher. She received her PhD in Economics from Paris School of Economics in 2022.
• Filippos Exadaktylos: Filippos joined the Department of Econometrics, Statistics, and Applied Economics (Public Policies section) as an Assistant professor. He received his PhD in Economics from the Universidad de Granada in 2012.
• Rob Van Eynde: Rob joined the Department of Economic History, Institutions, Politics, and World Economy as a postdoctoral researcher. They obtained their PhD in Applied Economics – Operations Research from Ghent University in 2022.
• Amaranta Herrero: Amaranta joined the Department of Economic History, Institutions, Politics, and World Economy as a postdoctoral researcher. She obtained her PhD in Enviromental Science from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2013.
• Daniel Stephen Horen: Daniel joined the Department of Economic History, Institutions, Politics, and World Economy as a postdoctoral researcher. He received his PhD in Geography, Urban and Environmental Studies from  Concordia University in 2022.
• María José La Rota: Maria José joined the Department of Economic History, Institutions, Politics, and World Economy as a postdoctoral researcher. She obtained her PhD in Ecology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2022.
• Goonj Mohan: Goonj joined the Department of Economics (Economic Theory section) as a postdoctoral researcher. She obtained her PhD in Economics and Finance from Bocconi University in 2023.
• Tsz Ning Wong: Tsz joined the Department of Economics (Economic Theory section) as a Beatriu de Pinós research fellow. He received his PhD in Economics from Pennsylvania State University in 2016.
• Julián Arturo Porras: Julián joined the Department of Economic History, Institutions, Politics, and World Economy as a postdoctoral researcher. He obtained his PhD in Sociology from the Universitat de Barcelona in 2018.
• Francisco Javier Robles: Francisco Javier joined the Department of Economic, Financial and Actuarial Mathematics as a Serra Húnter Assistant Professor. He obtained his PhD in Economics from the Universitat de Barcelona in 2017.
• Francisco Javier Rodríguez: Francisco Javier joined the Department of Economics as a postdoctoral researcher. He received his PhD in Economics from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 2021.
• Ana Rodriguez-González: Ana joined the Department of Econometrics, Statistics, and Applied Economics (Econometrics and Statistics section) as an Assistant Professor. She received her PhD in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in 2020.
• Núria Rodriguez-Planas: Núria joined the Department of Economics (Public Economics section) as a Distinguished Researcher and ERC Advance Grant Awardee. She received her PhD in Economics from Boston University in 1999.
• Sergio Ruiz Cayuela: Sergio joined the Department of Economic History, Institutions, Politics, and World Economy as a postdoctoral researcher. He obtained his PhD in Human Geography from the Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience, Coventry University in 2023.
• Nicolai Suppa: Nicolai joined the Department of Economic History, Institutions, Politics, and World Economy as a Serra Húnter Assistant Professor. He obtained his PhD in Economics from TU Dortmund University in 2013.
• Katherina Thomas: Katherina joined the Department of Economic History, Institutions, Politics, and World Economy as a postdoctoral researcher. She received her PhD in Economic Analysis from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2023.
• Francisca Toro: Francisca joined the Department of Economics (Economic Theory section) as a postdoctoral researcher. She obtained her PhD in Economics from the Universidad de Oviedo in 2022.
• Natalia Valdez: Natalia joined the Department of Economics (section of Economic Theory) as a postdoctoral researcher. She obtained her PhD in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University in 2023.
• Francisco Villavicencio: Francisco joined the Department of Economic, Financial and Actuarial Mathematics as a Ramón y Cajal research fellow. He obtained his PhD in Statistics from the University of Southern Denmark in 2017.
• Josep Vives: Josep joined Department of Economic, Financial and Actuarial Mathematics as an Associate Professor. He obtained his PhD in Mathematics from the Universitat de Barcelona in 1994.
• Daniel Walton: Daniel joined the Department of Economic History, Institutions, Politics, and World Economy as a postdoctoral researcher. He obtained his PhD in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from the University of California.
• Wei Zheng: Wei joined the Department of Economics (Public Economics section) as a postdoctoral researcher. She received her PhD in Economics from the University of Connecticut in 2021.
