The BIRMss is the yearly event held at Riskcenter. In 2014, the Summer School is composed of three courses:
Registration is required
July, 3-4. International Long-term Care Policy Network.
July, 14-15. Economics of risk, by Richard Watt.
This is a course in microeconomic theory, as it relates to the study of problems under risk. In order to concentrate on the analysis of how risk affects decision making rather than complicating the mathematics, at all times the risk is kept at to the simpliest possible representation, specifically, the only risks analysed are two-dimensional.
July, 17-18. Economics of insurance, by Richard Watt
This is a course in microeconomic theory, as it relates to the study of problems involving insurance. In order to follow the course, students will need to have already studied a standard intermediate microeconomics course (especially, consumer theory), and they should also be comfortable working with mathematics at the undergraduate level.
