ACTUARIAL DAY 2019

 

March 15, 2019. The 6th edition of the Actuarial Day 2019 was held at the University of Barcelona. The Actuarial Day is the meeting of the Challenge program organized by UBZurich Chair in which participating teams present their concluding results on a business case.

In this edition, 12 students from the UB Master of Actuarial Science and Finance, organized in three teams, worked during four weeks in the business case entitled “KPID: Key Performance Indicator Dashboard”. The teams were supervised by Mrs. Pilar Ramiro (Zurich Chief Reserving Actuary), Mr. Ezequiel Bengolea (Zurich Actuarial Reserving Manager) and Mrs. Carolina Demarchi (Zurich LatAm Reserving Team Leader). After the students’ presentations, Mrs. Pilar Ramiro gave the lecture entitled “Digital transformation in the insurance industry”.

The winner of the Zurich Experience Award 2019 was disclosed during the Actuarial Day ceremony. The Zurich Experience Award consists of a visit to the headquarters of the Zurich Insurance Group in Zurich (Switzerland). The Zurich Experience Award 2019 was given to the students of the Beta team, Mr. Ander Andrade Marchena, Mr. Alvaro Pineda Perez, Mr. Bernat Ros Benet and Mr. Rodrigo Sánchez Reyes.

The Actuarial Day 2019 ceremony was presided over by Mr. Josep Badal (Zurich Human Resources Business Partner), Mrs. Mercedes Ayuso (UBZurich Chair, University of Barcelona), Mrs. Elena Balletbó (Zurich Human Resources), Mr. Miguel Santolino (UBZurich Chair, University of Barcelona) and Mrs. Pilar Ramiro (Zurich Chief Reserving Actuary).
